Our Social Mission

  • to address the underrepresentation of women in technology fields through training and employment
  • to provide a flexible workplace to accommodate the needs of men and women with disabilities
  • to provide a higher rate of pay through technology employment and training
  • to support women and the disabled with benefits and structure designed for them
  • to take advantage of our employees' strengths, abilities and life experiences to provide creative solutions for workplace and community problems
  • to grow and advance our employees internally or prepare them for their next job or self-employment

Therefore, part of our mission is also to reach out to school age girls

We support and applaud the efforts of Kim Wilkens. Her TeenTechGirls project is a local step in the right direction. She also is conducting a Women Learn Tech group. Plans are underway for a non-profit organization to sponsor these activities. Find out more through this email newsletter.

WizTech, Inc., is a Virginia Benefit Corporation as described by this Richmond Bar Association document (pdf) and by Virginia statute. This allows "directors and officers to take both public benefit and private interests of shareholders into consideration when taking corporate action, so long as the entity is properly organized as a benefit corporation. The corporation is therefore permitted to earn a profit, but maximizing shareholder value cannot be the only goal considered by directors and officers." (Richmondbar.org)
